Polystyrene Compounds

We offer a range of "customized grades" of PS compounds and have the ability to produce a compound with the balance of color, MFR and Impact strength which suits your application. The standard grades are black or natural - other colors are possible on request:

The High Impact grades are suited for HIPS sheet extrusion for thermoforming food packaging, floor heating panels and horti trays for propagation and orchid growing.

PS productsThe lower impact LIPS and MIPS grades and Crystal clear GPPS are used for injection moulding applications, such as moulding CD and DVD cases and utensils.

Property data is available for each of these compounds under the chapter Downloads.

Quality

Quality Control procedures ensure full traceability of every ton of compound we produce, with a record of the feedstocks used, process conditions and QC test results. The laboratories are well equipped with testing equipment for measurement of tensile strength, modulus, notched impact (Charpy and Izod), Melt Flow Rate, Capillary Rheometry (for understanding those special processing challenges), color, opacity, DSC and XRF. We have small-scale sheet extrusion facilities, injection moulding for test specimens, compounding for development work, and ovens and furnaces for drying and ashing.

Special Polystyrene compounds

The continuous drive for innovation led to the development of new High temperature PS Grades. This new line of HT PS Compounds is based on NORYL® resin supplied by SABIC Innovative Plastics.

We supply compounds and foil to meet our customers' demands and deliver anywhere in Europe at an attractive cost. We have access to a reliable feedstock of PS from our captive polymerisation.

Although the beneficial effect of NORYL® resin to boost temperature resistance of Polystyrene has been known for some time, the availability of suitable, competitively priced and tailor-made grades has been limited. Our series of HT Polystyrene compounds addresses this issue.

More information about HT Polystyrene can be found under the chapter Downloads.

NORYL® resin is a "Trademark of SABIC Innovative Plastics BV".
